Every once in a while it’s nice to get out of your own town or city and explore a little bit of your state. This is especially true during the holidays in Georgia. There is so much going on in other parts of the state. For example, nothing can be more perfect this holiday than visiting the charming town of Santa Claus, Georgia. However, there is another small town to add to your holiday radar, and this is one festive tradition you do not want to miss.
Every year in Albany, Georgia there is a holiday event that draws people in from all over the state.
Chehaw Park is no stranger to annual events, as they always have activities and happenings throughout the year outside of just visiting with the rare animals.
On some nights during the Festival of Lights you’ll be able to hitch a ride on the train with Santa and Mrs. Claus, as well as enjoy different crafts, hot chocolate and marshmallow roasting.
Ready to take a trip to Chehaw Park this holiday season? The Festival of Lights at Chehaw Park runs throughout the month of December. Visitors who just want to enjoy the lights can visit December 1-3, 7-10, and 13-30. Visitors looking for the entire experience, with Santa Claus, a snow pit, and more can visit December 8-9, 15-23. To find out more information about the event, visit the Facebook Event Page.
