1. Fort Mountain State Park

Fort Mountain State Park is pretty cool in its own right. The 3,712-acre state park is near Ellijay and Chatsworth. The park has a renovated fire tower that will give you some of the best views in the Peach State. The campground is open year-round and has scenic mountain surroundings. There are cabins, RV and tent sites, and, for a really rustic experience, backcountry campsites out in the woods. It's a great place to go fishing. Curious to see what makes this park so unique? The Ravens Cliff Wilderness Area is over 9,000 protected acres inside the Chattahoochee National Forest. The area is best known for being home to Raven Cliff Falls, a stunning waterfall paradise that cascades down 40 feet. This is primitive camping at its finest!

3. Reed Bingham State Park

fReed Bingham State Park is home to one of our favorite swimming holes in Georgia. The campground here is open year-round. The park is beautiful and has plenty of excellent trails to explore. Speaking of trails -- you can explore them virtually when you watch this incredible hiking footage:
Andrews Cove Campground is a peaceful camping area that is one of the most secluded campgrounds in Georgia. No reservations are required here and you'll get to sleep right by a creek, where the sound of a babbling brook will lull you to sleep. This is one of the rare places in Georgia to have such towering trees.
5. Upper Chattahoochee River Campground
Upper Chattahoochee River Campground, Chattahoochee River Rd, Blairsville, GA 30512, USA
The Upper Chattahoochee River Campground is the perfect place to sleep after you've spent the day exploring Horse Trough Falls. This Blue Ridge Mountain campsite has 19 sites and is only half an hour away from the small town of Helen, though it feels like you're very far from civilization. Take some time to sit by the river and let it carry your stress away.
6. West Fork Campground
West Fork Campground, 919 Overflow Creek Rd, Clayton, GA 30525, USA
The gorgeous West Fork Campground gets its name due to its location along the west fork of the Chattooga River. This first-come, first-served campground is about half an hour from the town of Clayton. The views are incredible here, and it's an ideal spot for fishing or canoeing.
7. Doll Mountain Campground

Last but not least on our list of secret camping spots in Georgia, Doll Mountain Campground is the perfect spot for rustic camping in Georgia. Located in Ellijay, it also happens to be a fantastic spot for star gazing! Seeing the moonlight reflecting off of the water is mesmerizing! (Note: the site photographed is #38).
