It’s easy to get so engrossed in our metropolitan dining scenes that you forget to check out some of the more rural restaurants in Georgia. Rural counties comprise much of the state when you consider that a county with fewer than 50,000 residents is considered rural. There are hundreds of restaurants in places like Atlanta and Macon, and the eateries in other areas of the state often don’t get as much press or online attention. But for those of us in the know who love traveling all over the Peach State, there are tons of amazing rural restaurants in Georgia that deserve a visit. Here are just a few of our favorites:
Ila Restaurant is in the little town of Ila, population 363. This meat-and-three spot has a delicious array of home-cooked goodness.
It's a tasty, old-school meat-and-three restaurant, the likes of which can be hard to come by nowadays. This is old-school Southern food, served up buffet-style.
While Dublin is a city with a pretty sizable population and Laurens County has a growing population, it's still technically considered rural. This delicious spot could compete with any in larger cities, though!
Company Supply specializes in tasty Cajun eats that will transport your taste buds to Louisiana.
Company Supply, 107 W Jackson St, Dublin, GA 31021, USA
Colquitt (not to be confused with Colquitt County) is tucked away in the quiet southwestern part of the state. It's here that you'll find Moby Dick.
This delicious restaurant serves up home-cooked Southern cuisine, with a rotating menu of all the classics, including cornbread, mac and cheese, and fried okra.
