Savannah is one of the most beautiful places in Georgia, and it’s well-known for being an incredibly historic city. After all, it is the oldest European-settled city in the state! While much of Savannah remains charmingly historic, the riverfront area has recently undergone an incredible transformation. Savannah’s beloved riverfront area near River Street is now known as the Plant Riverside District. This was once the Savannah Power Plant, but it’s now been shaped into a sensational entertainment destination. You can find all sorts of fun here, including shops, wine tastings, delicious dining, and so much more. Perhaps the best part of the transformation comes from the power plant itself, which has been restored to its former glory and now is host to a marvelous hotel.
Have you recently visited Savannah’s Riverfront area lately? What do you feel is the biggest overall change? Share your thoughts in the comments!
If you’d like more information about this transformed Savannah power plant, check out the official Plant Riverside District website or Facebook page. There’s always something going on at Plant Riverside, so make sure to view the calendar of upcoming events.
