12 Reasons Why People In Georgia Should Be Proud Of Their State

Pictured here is the Concord Coach No. 84, found in the Booth Western Art Museum in North Georgia. Everywhere you look you see history. We have one of the most historic cities in the nation--Savannah! We have dozens of historic sites on the national historic registry. We also have free museums all over Georgia. Heck, just go through some of our towns and see our historic houses!

Here's one of my favorite Georgia waterfall pictures! This a waterfall in Panther Creek in the North Georgia Mountains.

The North Georgia Mountains are a wonder to behold. We have the Blue Ridge Mountains (pictured here,) where the scenery is unbelievable! The lakes, the mountain views, the cabins--all amazing! We even have some cabins/lodges that are straight up wood mansions!.

This picture of a smiling alligator just cracks me up! I hope it makes your day! You won't believe the amount of wildlife we have here! Go down on the Georgia coast and visit the many barrier islands--or go see the marshes of Okefenokee Swamp. Down there on the coast, you will find acres and acres of untouched wildlife. Even in the rural parts of Georgia there are many species such as deer, birds and insects. Georgia is a wildlife enthusiast's dream!

Our southern food is simply the best! Get some authentic southern food like mac n' cheese, sweet potato pie, pecan pie, fried chicken and sweet tea. Yum, yum, yum!

Family is super important to us down here, and we have no problem picking up surrogate family members! You'll always find us ready to share a meal with new-found friends. If you're from Georgia, you're part of the family too!

There's no peach sweeter than a Georgia peach. Everyone from around can surely attest to it!

Here comes the Georgia history again -- UGA is the oldest chartered university in the nation! On top of that, we have Emory, GA Tech, Georgia State, and dozens of other great universities and colleges.

And Yellow Jackets too for you GA Tech fans! As I've said many times before-- we have some of the best collegiate teams in the country! UGA, GA Tech-– even our professional teams are great—Atlanta Hawks and the Atlanta Falcons!

According to recent reports, Georgia is the fourth fastest growing state in the country! Our low cost of living, coupled with our great weather and job opportunities makes Georgia is a prime location for people to migrate to. From 2015-2020, Georgia's population is expected to increase 8.5%!

Some might make fun of our Georgia accents, but we know everyone loves a southern girl and most women find a gentleman with a drawl irresistible! Just one trip outside of Georgia and you'll have everyone asking where you're from!

Need I say more? We have the friendliest, most cultured, fantastic people around! Here at Only in Georgia, we love our Georgia family and think you're the best in the country!
