Georgia has miles and miles of ocean coast, but for those of us living farther inland, it’s not always possible to get there. The Peach State is huge, and driving to one of our barrier islands can take a long time if you live farther north or west. Fortunately, there are lots of inland beaches in Georgia that can provide just as much fun as a trip to the coast. One of our favorites is the beach in Carrollton, GA, at John Tanner Park, also known as Carroll County Park. It’s such a perfect place for a summer weekend of family fun.

Remember to always put on sun block before heading out – that Georgia summer sun can be brutal. I love using Sun Bum from REI!
