8 Places You Recognize From Georgia That Showed Up In Famous Movies And Shows
Georgia is becoming its own little Hollywood, or perhaps it already has been. We’ve been taking the movie scene by storm by having dozens of movies filmed right in our backyards! Can you guess what famous movies or shows were shot here? Here are our picks for some of the most notable Georgia places seen in movies:

They shot the popular Hunger Games trilogy, in part, all throughout Atlanta. The "president's house" is actually the historic Swan House, built in 1928.

The Walking Dead is a wildly popular show filmed almost entirely in Atlanta. This old, abandoned college was the site for a shot of an abandoned veterinary campus in season four.

The setting for this movie was fictional town Whistle Stop, Alabama. In reality, they shot ithe film in Juliette, Georgia, where the Whistle Stop Cafe is still thriving.

They filmed perhaps one of the most iconic movies of our time in Savannah. They shot the famous bench scenes, in which Forrest sits reflecting upon his life, in Chippewa Square. The bench is now preserved at the Savannah History Museum.

This movie's "battle between the news stations" took place in Woodruff Park in downtown Atlanta. There are many shots where the Flatiron Building can be seen behind the actors. What is it that's so much fun about recognizing places in movies? We don't know, but it's pretty great.
