Don’t you just love the charm of an old-fashioned small town restaurant in Georgia? Between the friendly service, the nostalgic atmosphere, and the delicious food, these are the types of places that make you feel right at home. One of our favorite spots that perfectly personifies that down-home charm is Huck’s Cafe in the little town of Commerce, about half an hour outside of Athens. This spot lies just past the downtown area and is typically packed each night. It’s a popular gathering spot for locals, but it’s so old-fashioned that it doesn’t even have a website. With just one visit here, you’ll see why this place has been delighting visitors for nearly half a century.
Huck's Cafe has been around since 1975, and it's undoubtedly one of the most popular restaurants in the little town of Commerce.
This place is decidedly no-frills: you won't find fancy touch-screen menus or online ordering here. In fact, there isn't even a Huck's Cafe website, though there is a Facebook page.
The menu is more varied than you might expect, but the stars of the show are most definitely the burgers. Huck's is famous around town for its made-to-order, all-beef patties that are some of the best around.
Make sure to save room for dessert! With a rotating sweets menu, you never know what will be available on any given day, but it's sure to be delicious.
This is the type of delicious old-fashioned restaurant that you may have thought went the way of the dodo bird, but it's alive and well in small town Georgia!
