Winter in the Peach State is a magnificent time. True, much of the state doesn’t see much snow or frigid temperatures, but people who are not from here are often surprised to learn that it does snow in Georgia. Extreme winter weather is not uncommon in the northern mountainous regions of the state, which just so happens to be where a few of our natural wonders reside. One of the prettiest is Brasstown Bald, the tallest natural point in Georgia. It’s gorgeous at any time of year, but in winter, when covered in snow, it’s downright magical.
Please note that the Brasstown Bald Visitor’s Center is not open year-round, so make sure to check out the Brasstown Bald Facebook page for information about hours.
