Do you have a sweet tooth you’re looking to indulge while doing a bit of sightseeing? We’ve got just the treat for you! Whether you like ice cream, cookies, pastries, cupcakes, or fruit cake, there’s something for you to enjoy on this fun little jaunt.
The entire trip will take about an hour and 45 minutes of driving time. Obviously, you'll want to add in a little extra time to explore the surrounding areas and indulge in your desserts. You can check out the fully customizable route on Google Maps.
Just a few miles away, you'll find Leopold's Ice Cream in downtown Savannah's historic district. This 100-year old institution is one of the most famous ice cream shops in Georgia.

Scoops, cones, floats, sundaes: Leopold's has it all, and it's all delicious. There's almost always a line out the door here, but trust us, it's worth the wait!
Next up, you'll head just outside of Savannah to the growing city of Pooler. Here, you'll find Smallcakes. This is a national chain whose stores are owned primarily by franchisees, so you're still supporting a small business owner.

Smallcakes serves amazing cupcakes in tasty and unique flavors. It's not just plain chocolate here - you'll find delights like peanut butter and jelly or Fat Elvis! You can also pick up ice cream and other delicious treats like macarons and cookies. Find out more from the Smallcakes Savannah Quarters Facebook page.
4. Georgia Fruit Cake Company: 5 S Duval St, Claxton, GA 30417
This next stop might be a little divisive. Fruit cake is one of those "love it or hate it" type foods. Regardless of how you feel about it, everyone in the Peach State knows that the small town of Claxton is the fruit cake capital of the world (it's even emblazoned on their water tower).

5. Jonny Boy Cookies: 441 S Main St Suite 120, Statesboro, GA 30458
For your final stop, you'll visit Statesboro. This college town is home to Georgia Southern University and also Jonny Boy Cookies, which has been serving up amazing homemade cookies since 2017.
