The Cohutta Wilderness spans over 37,000 acres, extending all the way into Tennessee; however, there are nearly 90 miles of trails within the section of the wilderness inside Georgia.
Despite its moderate rating, this picturesque path is both kid and dog-friendly. Just be sure to keep your pup on a leash at all times.

The Grassy Mountain Tower Trail tallies over five miles in a loop, extending from the reflective waters of Lake Conasauga, which happens to be the highest lake in the state…
The hardwood forest biome of this trail is home to a variety of flora and fauna including wild boar, black bears, herds of deer, wildflowers, coyotes, foxes, and more.
Marking a close halfway point, the fire observation tower offers seemingly endless views of the surrounding area that simply must be seen to be enjoyed.
The fire tower closes at times with some hikers reporting that it has permanently closed. Despite its closure, hikers can go up several of the tower's steps for some pretty views.
