I hate to say it, but Georgia is notorious for its bad drivers and forever-present traffic. Maybe it’s the fact that we have so many out-of-towners living here, or maybe it’s just that we are all rushed to get where we’re going. Whatever the case, among all of our traffic and bad driving, these 10 counties are the worst. Here are the top 10 counties in Georgia with the highest number of fatalities as a result of traffic accidents:
Fulton County is a pretty big county that holds our state capital, Atlanta, and a big portion of Atlanta's metropolitan area as well. It comes as no surprise that this county is first on our list as it has the worst traffic in all of Georgia. There were 72 automobile fatalities in 2010 and 61 in 2011.
Dekalb County is well known for cities such as Stone Mountain, Decatur and Dunwoody. Dekalb County comes in second on our list with 49 and 51 fatalities in 2010 and 2011 respectively.

Gwinnett County is another large county that holds Braselton, Norcross, Grayson, Dacula and many other cities. Their 2010 and 2011 fatalities were 57 and 50 respectively.

Cobb County is almost just as bad as Fulton County in regards to traffic, so it's no surprise that this county is high up on our list. The fatalities in 2010 were 35 and 42 in 2011.
Richmond County holds Augusta, Hephzipah and Blythe. The difference in automobile fatalities from 2010 to 2011 is notable, as it went from 19 fatalities in 2010 to 32 in 2011.

Clayton County holds Rex, Jonesboro, College Park, Morrow and many other cities. Their automobile fatalities were 24 and 30 in 2010 and 2011 respectively.
Hall County holds Gainesville, Flowery Branch, Buford and more. Their automobile fatalities were 26 in 2010 and 26 in 2011.
Carroll County sure is beautiful, but unfortunately they have one of the highest rates of automobile fatalities in the state, with 27 fatalities in 2010 and 22 in 2011. Well known cities such as Carrollton and Villa Rica are in Carroll County.

Chatham County had 43 automobile fatalities in 2010 and 21 fatalities in 2011.
Bibb County holds Macon and Payne, and had 26 automobile fatalities in 2010 and 20 in 2011.
