She is passionate about animal rescue and live music - traveling across the country to see a favorite band is a pretty regular occurrence! Being out hiking in the woods enjoying the scenery with her beloved dogs is another favorite hobby, and also checking out the Pokemon Go scene in whatever city she happens to be in at any given time (coffee and dog leash in hand). There are a lot of great places to go when the weather is warm in Georgia. We’ve got lakes, waterfalls, and rivers where you can escape the heat with a dip in cool waters. One of our favorites is Mossy Creek Park, hidden away in the small town of Lula. This “park” is more like small water access area than a large state park with amenities, but it’s an absolutely fantastic hidden gem in rural Georgia for the whole family to enjoy some summer splashing in the sun. Parking is free and it’s a good spot for swimming, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, or tubing.
Please note that there are not any trash cans at this area, so make sure to bring along your own bags to dispose of any waste. As always when out in nature, leave no trace behind so that others can enjoy the area for years to come.
