Fans of waterfalls in Georgia have no shortage of amazing opportunities to check out brilliant cascades in our state. Whether you’re looking for a Peach State waterfall road trip or just want to check out some of the best waterfalls in Georgia, our state has almost limitless places to indulge your wildest waterfall fantasies. One of the best places to get the most bang for your buck is the Angel Falls Trail in Rabun County. If you hike the entire trail, you’ll encounter both Panther Falls and Angel Falls in the span of just 1.75 miles!
The trailhead is in Lakemont and note that there is a $5 parking fee, so make sure you bring some cash. It's located within the sprawling Chattahoochee National Forest.
This is a wooded area, so bring insect repellent if you visit in the warm months. There are a lot of roots to step over on the trail, but it's not too much scrambling, and the hike is suitable for kids and novice hikers.
You'll see Panther Falls first. It's not as famous as the similarly-named Panther Creek Falls, which is about 30 minutes away, but it's just as gorgeous, if not more so.
You can turn around after hitting Panther Falls, but if you continue onward, you'll eventually see the beautiful Angel Falls. Note that the path does get a little steeper between the two waterfalls.
