There’s no shortage of great hikes in the Peach State, and we also have plenty of abandoned places in Georgia. Combine the two together and you end up with a beautiful trek through nature that also has an eerie vibe to it. There’s something powerful about being in an abandoned place that once served as something else. Even if you aren’t a particularly firm believer in the paranormal, it’s not hard to imagine that spirits could remain in these spots. You can almost feel the vibes from an area’s past life when you’re in an abandoned mental hospital or strolling through a ghost town. One of our favorite “abandoned hikes” in Georgia is the Pine Log Creek Trail in Rydal, GA, which passes right by an old quarry that’s no longer in use. Check it out:
