It is a hot summer right now in Georgia! What better way to celebrate it than to hit the beaches? In case you’re wondering where to find them, here is a list of 9 gorgeous beaches you must check out this summer!
Tybee Island is the easternmost city in Georgia. This small island is filled with fun activities to get into! It's a great vacation spot for the family or for a romantic get away. You can catch a dolphin tour, sit beachfront or take a tour of historic Savannah.
This 18 mile-long island is accessible by car and is the largest of the Golden Isles islands. The restaurant scene there is amazing, the water sports are spectacular and the wildlife is cool too! Every year they host a turtle crawl triathlon and nest fest. After the races, the Georgia Sea Turtle Center releases a rehabilitated turtle back into the ocean. It's definitely a must go-to event for turtle enthusiasts!

Sea Island is home to luxurious five-star resorts. You can stay at one of their three spectacular resorts--the Sea Island Beach Club, The Cloister, or The Lodge. The Cloister is home to a Forbes Five-Star Restaurant--the only one in Georgia. It is also part of the Golden Isles of Georgia.
Cumberland Island is a favorite of mine because of the amazing wild horses! These horses are a group of feral horses that likely came with the English settlers in the 18th century. The land here has so much history with Native Americans, missionaries, enslaved Africans and Conquistadors all walking this land!

Ossawbaw Island is another large barrier island. It contains 26K acres of maritime forest , wetlands and beach. This untouched space of nature was set aside by the state of Georgia for cultural, scientific and natural studies. The 13 miles of untouched beaches are open to the public, and this island is only accessible by boat.
There are so many things to do at Jekyll Island! It was once the vacation spot for many influential American families, it was touched by the Native Americans and settlers hundreds of years ago and there's so many water sports to get into! Whether your thing is to get active, learn Georgia's history or to seek nature, you will be sure to find what you're looking for!
Little St. Simons Island is one of the least undeveloped barrier islands of Georgia. It has seven miles of beaches and is accessible only by boat. The Lodge featured here is a very popular spot. You are in close proximity to the beaches and wildlife!

If you want to catch sight of a dolphin, this beach is the place to do it! It is also a popular spot to go birding, shelling and for viewing wildlife in general. It is also home to the Wanderer Memorial, which is dedicated to 400 enslaved Africans that were illegally imported on The Wanderer ship. It was one of the most controversial moments in Jekyll Island's history.
