We are lucky enough to live in a state that has waterfalls in abundance, especially throughout north Georgia. If you have spent much time in the Peach State, you’re likely well aware of how many great waterfalls in Georgia we have. While we may not have a Niagara Falls quite as magnificent as the one that straddles the Canadian border, we have one waterfall that is often considered the Niagara Falls of Georgia.
But for those of you who are thinking it’s Amicalola Falls, you’re going to be in for a surprise. Check out the magic and wonderment that is Lula Lake Falls in Lookout Mountain, Georgia.
The Lula Lake Land Trust is perhaps one of the most underrated areas in the entire state of Georgia.
The protected area was once just 1,200 acres. It's now expanded to over 8,000 acres, including a waterfall that's been nicknamed the Niagara Falls of Georgia.
For those lucky enough to plan a trip to this magnificent area, it's truly a magical experience. Standing near this Georgia waterfall and feeling the refreshing mist as it cascades downward is incredible.
There are several trails throughout the area. This makes for a wonderful way to spend an entire afternoon: hiking and exploring the various waterfalls!

Remember, Lula Lake Falls is not open to the public on a daily basis. The preserve is typically open the first and last weekend of each month from May to November. You can check out the Lula Lake Land Trust website or Facebook page for more information and a schedule of public dates. Reservations must be made in advance and the park is only open during specific hours on open weekends.
