1. Big Pie In The Sky (Kennesaw)
Big Pie in the Sky is the type of pizza place where dreams really do come true. On the Travel Channel show
Man v. Food , host Adam Richman attempted to complete the Carnivore Challenge. This is definitely one of the toughest food challenges in Georgia. You and a partner are required to eat an 11-pound pizza loaded with meat in under one hour (no vomiting allowed!). Guests are allowed to take on this challenge themselves, but needless to say, only a few have tried, and most have failed. Regardless of whether you feel brave enough to attempt the Carnivore Challenge, you'll love Big Pie in the Sky. The from-scratch dough and fresh ingredients are delicious.

2. The Red Eyed Mule (Marietta)
The Food Network’s Alton Brown has visited this traditional lunch spot on several occasions. Brown even claims that the Sloppy Slaw burger is his favorite burger in the Atlanta area. This small spot boasts some seriously huge flavors—get ready to order everything on the menu and take a nice long nap afterwards. Their prices are surprisingly reasonable and they've got plenty of dishes to choose from. There's a Mornin Menu and an After Mornin Menu, so make sure to check them out for breakfast as well!

3. Heirloom Market BBQ (Atlanta)
Heirloom Market was featured on three different food shows:
Best Thing I Ever Ate ,
Bizarre Foods America , and
Unique Eats . This Texas-style Korean BBQ joint serves up some seriously unique flavors. They are especially famous for their spicy pork sandwich. I guess the only thing left to figure out is whether or not this is the best thing you ever ate.

Are you looking for a break from the savory of this road trip? Well, let’s lighten your load with a little something sweet. Sublime Doughnuts is easy to miss if you’re not keeping an eye out, so keep your eyes peeled! This shop is filled with such delightfully delicious fritters and donuts, you’d be hard pressed to find sweets like this elsewhere. They've got two locations in Atlanta, plus a third in Thailand. They've been featured on several Food Network and Cooking Channel Shows.

You may have seen this Duluth hotspot on an episode of

Matthews Cafeteria was featured on a Food Network episode of
Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives showcasing where the locals go. That's certainly true in this case, because locals have been flocking here since 1955! There aren't many better places around for a quick fix of home cooking. This is made-from-scratch Southern cuisine the old-fashioned way.

Jen’s & Friends was featured on an episode of Drinking Made Easy, which is fitting considering there are more than 300 martini creations and 200 beers available here.
