When the end of the world comes, those living in Georgia will have an advantage over the rest of the country. We have 13 military bases here, a lot of farms and rural land that’s not heavily populated, lots of guns and the moderate weather here makes it easier for those starting over. While Georgians do have an overall advantage in the face of an apocalypse, all places in Georgia are not ideal for the end of the world. Check out these eight cities in Georgia that are best prepared for doomsday.
Senioa is a rural part of Georgia and it was actually the site of the Doctor's farm in the AMC show, The Walking Dead. This country part of Georgia is a perfect place to build an apocalyptic bunker. It's away from the general population and there's plenty of rivers, streams, and wild game for food.
Sharpsburg was another scene in the popular apocalyptic show, The Walking Dead. This rural town in Georgia is another perfect place to be when the end of the world comes.
If you're looking for more religious respite in the wake of an apocalypse, Macon is going to be your best bet. Macon has more churches per capita than any other city in the south.
Kennesaw is definitely ready for an apocalypse with their mandatory gun laws. The survivors will be sure to be well prepared against any criminals. Plus there's a huge mountain in Kennesaw to take refuge on.
Not only is Albany a pretty rural place, it also is the location of a Marine Army Base. If I lived in Albany, the fact that we had marines right in our city would certainly make me feel safe.
Dahlonega is another town in Georgia that has many advantages in the wake of an apocalypse. People can take refuge in the mountains, they will always have fresh water and wild animals for food, plus there is an Army base in Dahlonega.
Liberty is the location of the Fort Stewart Army Base right outside of historic Savannah. With the Army cadets right there, and it being so near the ocean, Liberty would make an ideal place to be should the end of the world come.
What do you think of this list? If you had to pick, what city would you choose to be in when the end of the world comes? Let’s talk about it in the comments below!
