Spring in Georgia is a beautiful time. Sure, the pollen can be a drag (and mean lots of trips to the car wash), but the flowers and greenery are absolutely unbeatable. It’s the perfect time of year to get out and enjoy all that the Peach State has to offer, and if you’re looking to enjoy some of the prettiest gardens in Georgia, we’ve got you covered with this North Georgia road trip. It’s a lengthy drive, but you’ll head to some absolutely magnificent destinations and have the opportunity to see some of the most stunning flowers in the state. Check it out:
In all, the trip requires just under five hours of driving, and it's a great option for a three-day weekend trip this spring or summer.
Our first stop is the magnificent State Botanical Gardens of Georgia in Athens. This free destination spans 313 acres and features a variety of native, tropical, and even herb species. Springtime means plenty of brilliant blooms, and you'll find lots of fun in the children's area if you're bringing along the little ones.

While you're in Athens, make a secondary stop at the University of Georgia campus , just a few blocks away from the botanical gardens. The campus is open the public and is home to dozens of beautiful gardens.
UGA has property all over Athens, and whether you're looking for Latin American gardens or competition-worthy roses, you'll find a garden for everyone at the University of Georgia.
3. Gibbs Gardens

Another brilliant spring destination in Georgia is the Gibbs Gardens in Ball Ground. This world-class garden features 356 acres of plants. There are over 60 varieties of daffodils here, which ensures that you'll have something to see whether you come in spring's first few days or towards the end of the season. This is a stunning place with a huge variety of flowering plants perfect for a springtime visit.
4. Atlanta Botanical Garden
Atlanta Botanical Garden, 1345 Piedmont Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30309, USA
The Atlanta Botanical Garden is one of the capital city's top attractions. In addition to beautiful flowering plants and sculptures, it's also home to a fun canopy walk that provides a bird's-eye view of nearby Storza Woods. The gardens span 30 acres and host events throughout the year, but nothing can compare to seeing all these flowers in bloom in the spring.
We'll wrap the trip up with a visit to Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain. This resort features an abundance of azaleas in every spectrum of red and pink. The park has trails that are perfect for getting out and exploring the area.
Doesn’t this road trip look like so much fun? Don’t forget to bring along your favorite road trip snacks!
