Attention, Georgians! We have some fantastic news for you. There are some big changes coming to the state of Georgia this year that you’ll want to keep an eye out for. Whether you’re an animal enthusiast, rescuer, or just an animal lover, this is the type of place that you’ll be proud of Georgia for honoring. Introducing Georgia’s first elephant sanctuary…
There are thousands of elephants living in the world today that are not in the wild, but instead enslaved by humans.
However, international activist Carol Buckley is changing that one elephant life at a time, especially since she decided to open her second elephant sanctuary in Southern Georgia.
It started for Carol Buckley when she was a college student, and came across a baby elephant named Tara who lived in the back of a van in Southern California, and was a showpiece for a tire store.
Although not open to the public for the sake of the elephants, live cameras will be on the property so that people can check in with these magical animals and see how they live happily day by day.
The elephant sanctuary in Georgia is set to open later this year and we couldn’t be more thrilled at what Carol Buckley is doing for these gentle giants.
