Today, we’d like to introduce you to one of the best short hikes in Georgia. Promising spectacular scenery and water views at every turn, Dukes Creek Trail might be one of the most beautiful short-and-sweet hikes in the state. So lace up those hiking boots and let’s get started!
Dukes Creek Trail is a 2.3-mile out-and-back trail tucked away in the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest near Helen, Georgia.
What's wonderful about this trail is that it's appropriate for all skill levels, so be sure to bring the whole family. There's even an ADA-approved paved trail that leads to the first observation deck overlooking Davis Creek Falls.
The major waterfalls are easy to spot thanks to the wooden platforms, observation decks, and benches set up nearby. If you have a picnic lunch, you'll find plenty of places to sit and soak in the views.
If you plan on hiking this trail, it's important to visit as early as possible to avoid the crowds. The parking lot fills up quickly, so you might consider carpooling if you make the trip with friends and family.
No matter the time of year you visit this beautiful trail, you'll agree that it's one of the best short trails in all of Georgia. Happy hiking!
