I know that the snowpocalypse that happened in Georgia a couple of years ago may still have a few of us spooked, but I’m here to tell you, you have no reason to be fearful of winter this year. The chances of that happening again anytime soon are rare. You should, however, be looking forward to all of the cool things that you are guaranteed to encounter this winter, such as giant Christmas trees and delicious frothy holiday drinks. Here are 16 reasons why you should definitely not be dreading winter in Georgia this year:
I love this icy picture in which a small bubble reflects some of the wintery sunlight back onto the photographer. It just really represents winter to me. This picture was taken in Hillside Cottages in Atlanta, GA.
Winter is the perfect excuse to partake in many sugary drinks such as hot chocolate, spiked egg nog, or maybe this Lavazza Cinnamon-Pumpkin Espresso Milkshake.
Here in Georgia we never get quite enough snow to make more than a small snowman. Plus, since there's so little snow, it mixes in with the dirt creating Georgia's trademark, dirty mini-snowmen.
Winter is the perfect time to get away to your lake house or to a cozy cabin in the mountains. A burning fireplace and an icy day makes this scene perfect.
The Christmas light displays can get pretty competitive here in Georgia. There are some neighborhoods that go all out with the decorations and serve as a full-on winter wonderland display. It's surely one of my favorite things about winter.
The winter season means Christmas, New Years, and all the good feelings that come with it. There are always parties, celebrations and festivities to attend too.
Winter time also means that we'll have dozens of pseudo Santa Clauses walking around. Hey, as long as they're spreading good cheer, they do nothing but add to the holiday season.
This list wouldn't be complete without mentioning all of the giant and spectacular Christmas trees that pop up in malls and shopping areas all over Georgia. This one in particular is in Buckhead Village in Atlanta.
It’s the small things that make the winter season special. What are some of your favorite things about winter time in Georgia? Tell us some of your family’s winter and holiday traditions in the comments below!
