With dozens of famous celebrities such as Ryan Seacrest and Julie Roberts hailing from Georgia, it isn’t unlikely that you will find a lot of celebrities in and around the Peach State. If you are ever on the lookout for celebrities, these 10 locations in Georgia are the places you will generally spot them.
1. Midtown - Secret Hideaways Restaurants & Local Attractions
The Midtown Atlanta area is a favorite spot for visiting tourists. Just ask celebrity NFL player Tim Tebow. Or how about Elton John, who was seen with his partner David Furnish and son baby Zachary at the Georgia Aquarium? With the Fox Theater and Opera Nightclub in the area, you can never go wrong visiting Midtown to spot a celeb.
Looking for a great shopping destination while you’re on the hunt for a celebrity sighting? The Lenox mall in Buckhead is probably a good bet, as it’s famous for having high end shopping, which attracts lots of celebrities. The Captain America 3 cast was said to be spotted here, as well as Cameron Diaz in the Buckhead restaurant, Eclipse Di Luna, (pictured above.)
This is still considered to be one of Georgia’s top shopping sites. Located in Duluth, Georgia, this regional shopping center isn’t a crowded place--which may be preferred by some celebrities.
As a beautiful coastal city and a home to stunning classic architecture, this city is popular for filmmakers. The movie "Forrest Gump," starring actor Tom Hanks, was filmed in and around Savannah. I'm sure you'll catch a few celebs touring this historic city.
Dubbed as the song and soul of the South, there are many things to experience in Macon. The Shoppes at River Crossing and Macon Mall are home to eclectic boutiques that celebrities love.
This unique town is located in Jackson Country and spans across Hall, Gwinnett, and Barrow Counties, which is where Chateau Elan Winery and Resort is located. I bet celebrities come here as this resort attracts more than a half a million visitors a year.
Although it's the place for the world-renowned National Civil War Naval Museum, Columbus is also known for its rich historical district. Who knows, the 4,500-seat Golden Park stadium could be the next place for celebrities to relax and watch a good game of baseball.
Considered one of the fastest-growing suburbs in the United States, Woodstock has great food and awe-inspiring places to visit. Famous baseball player Chipper Jones was spotted in Woodstock. So don’t be surprised to spot a celebrity dining next to you in a local restaurant--yes, they go there!
Who wouldn't enjoy the Georgia National Fairgrounds during their annual fair? Or be amazed with the beautiful historic downtown in Perry? These stand-out attractions are what pull people (and celebrities) to Perry for fun and historical meanderings.
10. Georgia's Coastal Islands - World Famous Resorts
Georgia’s coastal islands are full of beauty, wonder, and award-winning luxury resorts. With golf courses, high end dining and spa treatments, it wouldn’t be surprising to spot a celebrity on one of these islands.
If you thought that the only place to spot famous people is in Hollywood, that’s not true! Atlanta is known as a popular spot for celebrities to come and hang out, and dozens of movies are being shot every day all over Georgia. The southern hospitality of Georgians, chic shopping areas and the rich historical places are just few of the reasons they keep coming back to Georgia.
