It can sometimes feel like many attractions are too expensive to enjoy. Times are tough, and it can be hard to save up hundreds or thousands of dollars to go on a great vacation. But we’ve got plenty of more affordable destinations in the Peach State that don’t require you to break the bank. We’ve put together a few into an affordable road trip in Georgia that will cost under $100 a person and take you to five great places throughout our wonderful state.

The Augusta Riverwalk is one of the prettiest waterside walks in Georgia. The total length of the trail is about 3.4 miles, and there's plenty to explore along the way, from shops to a playground and more.

2. Augusta Canal Discovery Center: Blome Ln, Augusta, GA 30901

While you're in the area, make time to visit the Augusta Canal Discovery Center. If you opt for a canal tour, museum admission is included. This is a great way to learn about the history of Georgia's Garden City. Ticket prices vary throughout the year, but typically run under $20 a person.
This little spot serves up food cafeteria-style in a classic "meat and three" special. The prices are affordable and the food is delicious Southern dining at its best.

Your next stop is Andalusia. This the beautiful Milledgeville farm was home to Flannery O'Connor, one of the most famous short story writers from the South. O'Connor was born in Savannah, but stayed at Andalusia for the last 14 years of her life. She wrote many of her most famous works at Andalusia. Tours of this beautiful property are under $10 a person.
