If ever you feel like enjoying the stars, the planets, and the solar system above, there is only one place to do so — Kissimmee Prairie Preserve in Florida. Not only is this state park as pristine and isolated as it gets, but it also is the only park in Florida that has been recognized Internationally due to its lack of light pollution and clear stargazing opportunities.
The Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park in Florida is a natural beauty located near Lake Okeechobee.
While there has been plenty of places on the eastern United States that have vanished as part of the Dark Sky organization, Kissimmee Prairie Preserve is not one of them.
This 54,000-acre property is not only one of the largest parks in the Florida Parks System, but it also has been designated a Dark Sky Park by the International Dark Sky Association.
This means that not only can you view the beauty of the preserve when the sun is high in the sky, but when it becomes the moon’s turn, you’ll still have endless amounts of natural wonderment.
