If you’re looking for the perfect spot for a spring or summer family trip, you can never go wrong with one of Florida’s stunning beaches. Read on, because we’re pretty sure we found the perfect one:
St. Andrews State Park is a former military reservation, located just east of Panama City on Florida's Emerald Coast. One and a half miles of pristine beaches stretch out on both the Gulf of Mexico and the Grand Lagoon.
At St. Andrews State Park, you won't just have a typical beach day. There are so many activities here, your whole family will be entertained. Not only that, it's one of the most beautiful beaches in Florida, with soft white sand and bright blue-green water.
Spend the day out on the water swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking, or canoeing. Or walk out on either one of the piers or the jetty for a day of fishing.
You can also take a boat tour out to explore nearby Shell Island, available during the springtime, summer and part of the fall.
This area is also a playground for local wildlife. Hike the two nature trails for a self-guided tour of Florida's coastal plants and wildlife. Look out for gators, turtles, deer, raccoons, and a wide variety of native birds.
When it's time to relax, head to a picnic pavilion for a laid-back lunch. You might enjoy it here so much that you don't want to leave, and that's not a problem. St. Andrews State Park has a campground for both tent and RV campers and even a space for primitive camping.
St. Andrews State Park is located at 4607 State Park Ln , Panama City, FL 32408. It’s open from 8:00 a.m. until sundown every day of the year.
Have you ever visited the beaches at St. Andrews State Park? What’s your favorite place in Florida for a staycation?
