Florida is known for being, well, strange (admit it: you’ve done the “Florida Man plus your birthday” Google challenge), but some places are pretty bizarre even for this state. Just consider Whimzeyland, a colorful explosion of art and materials that will sear into your brain forever.

Once known as the Bowling Ball House (there are over 500 painted bowling balls on the property, after all), Whimzeyland is the work of two artists, Todd Ramquist and Kiaralinda. They spent 20 years turning the home and the neighboring properties into an absolute visual delight, creating mosaics, statues, chandeliers, and more out of recyled artwork like broken bottles and (of course) bowling balls.

The result? A totally bizarre yet totally beautiful home.

Whimzeyland is located in downtown Safety Harbor, Florida. That means after you spend some time exploring this bowling ball paradise, you can head on over to a restaurant for a drink. Just remember to be polite: after all, the artists are letting you onto their private residence to admire their artwork.
