Have you ever been to one particular neighborhood in Florida and thought to yourself, “there are so many restaurants, I don’t even know where to start!” That’s how we feel about Coconut Grove, this little slice of tropical paradise in South Florida that has a unique culinary experience for anyone willing to try. Within the past few years, the food scene in this neighborhood has flourished, and the good news is, it’s practically a walking tour waiting to happen…check it out.
Welcome to Coconut Grove—the oldest continuously inhabited neighborhood of Miami in Miami-Date County, Florida.
While walking through this neighborhood and hopping in and out of boutique shops and CocoWalk Mall, you’ll probably work up an appetite, which is why we recommend a few restaurants along the way.
Ready for an indoor/outdoor experience on a vibrant, tropical tree-lined avenue? This is the place. Ariete is a progressive American restaurant where innovation and flavor meet in the middle. Check out the Sunday supper-style menu for a more family-friendly approach.
This longtime cafe in Coconut Grove is not only the perfect place to people watch, but it’s also the ultimate breakfast spot. Scoring patio dining is a must, especially on a warm weekend morning. Let the mimosas flow and the Nutella French Toast coat your fork.
For simple French fare in a small, charming eatery, look no further than Le Bouchon Du Grove. You can find authentic French cuisine and regional wines in a small, candlelit space with curb-side appeal. They don't make quaint restaurants quite like this anymore.
In case you were wondering, the pizza in Coconut Grove is absolutely worth stopping for. Especially if you’re grabbing a speciality pie at Harry’s Pizzeria. This hip, creative pizza joint serves up wood-oven pies that are baked in front of you in a giant brick hearth. Pair that with a craft beer and you have the perfect night.
Everybody’s got that special place they go to to satisfy their sweet tooth, right? We’re hoping that for those in Coconut Grove, it’s Vicky’s House. This retro, 80’s-inspired milkshake bar has the sweetest and strangest concoctions you’ll find.
You might’ve thought we were exaggerating when we said this is a food crawl, but in fact, you can visit all five of these delicious spots on foot. Just a quick half-mile trek and the food crawl is complete. You can find the entire walking tour by clicking here.
