It might be too early for a math problem, but just humor us…What do you get when you add chef-curated farm to dinner meals + goat meet & greets + sunset wagon rides + the ability to pick your own muscadine wine grapes? Answer: only one of the coolest farms in Florida. Before you start thinking that this farm is probably just like the others, think again. Congaree and Penn is not your average farm experience in Florida and with one visit you’ll be wondering why you haven’t been there sooner.
When you visit this unique farm in Florida, expect an experience that most other farms in the state do not provide.
Congaree and Penn started in 2014 as a small rice farm in Florida, but has since grown into a thriving orchard grove, you-pick vines, a honeybee farm, and an experience the whole family can enjoy.
This farm has some pretty cool bragging rights, too, as having the largest and youngest Mayhaw orchard in the entire world—with over 5,000 trees planted in the past handful of years.
Congaree and Penn has dedicated their farm not only to agriculture, but also to culinary adventures, too, with dinner events and culinary endeavors bringing the community together.
Visit the farm during their dinner series, when the farm collaborates with other farmers, chefs, brewers, ranchers, hunters, and fishermen in order to create an epic meal for all involved.
Or check out the farm during for the You Pick Muscadines, where on Wednesday through Sunday mornings and evenings in August and September guests can come pick sweet muscadines to make into wine!
Farm tours are also worth mentioning when you check out Congaree and Penn, whether it’s checking out the chicken coop or meeting and greeting the floppy-eared goats!
Additionally, there is no better way to get full view of the farm than with the sunset cruises. Grab a beverage from the taproom and climb aboard the wagon for a 45-minute ride as the sun sets on the farm.
Address: 11830 Old Kings Road, Jacksonville, FL 32219
