Planning an overnight excursion in Florida doesn’t need to break the bank, nor become a hassle involving itineraries, scheduling, and the like. Let us do all the planning for you on your next family-friendly weekend adventure. First, a visit to the delightful Giraffe Ranch in Dade City, the ultimate safari park experience that the kids will surely love. Then, head on over to Withlacoochee River RV Park to spend the night in nature, cozying up to a campfire. The perfect family-friendly adventure in Florida starts now…
For this fun, two-part family outing, we’re starting at Giraffe Ranch, an exciting wildlife park and giraffe farm in the heart of Dade City.
Visitors to the ranch will be given a choice on how they wish to explore. There are tours offered, like the Camel Safari Tour, the Wildlife Drive-Thru Safari, and the Segway Safari Tour to name a few.
In addition to having guided tours around the ranch, visitors can also choose from a few optional extras. Try the otter feeding or the premium giraffe encounter for a leveled-up adventure.
After Giraffe Ranch, head northeast a few miles to the Withlacoochee River Campground. Whether you’re bringing an RV or setting up a few tents, this gem is located right on the river.
Rent canoes or kayaks during the day, and explore the winding river. You can fish from your canoe or kayak, as long as you have a freshwater fishing license, or just enjoy the beauty of the wildlife nearby.
Most of the campsites have both fire rings and picnic tables, so you’ll be able to enjoy some s’mores roasting as you relax under the stars for the night.
So, what do you think about this family-friendly adventure in Florida? Would you plan a trip to both of these spots? Share with us your thoughts in the comments section! Or, head on over to the Giraffe Ranch website to see all of the safari options, then check out the Withlacoochee River RV Park website for camping reservations.
