In Florida, we do things differently than most of the rest of the country, but you probably already knew that. We’ve decided to compile a list of things Floridians would never do as a lighthearted reminder that it’s okay to be different. Living in Florida can definitely be an experience, to say the least, but here are a few things that you’ll likely never catch any of us doing.

1. Passing up a day at the beach.

3. Freaking out about a little rain (or a lot of rain).

We accept it's probably going to rain, and it's probably going to be over soon, so it's best to just ignore it and go about your day.
4. Or a hurricane.

At least most of the time. There are just so many that may or may not actually hit.
5. Going north for the winter.

There's no way we're shoveling snow or freezing our butts off to go to the grocery store. Let the relatives stay with you for Christmas, and that can be their present!

Mosquitoes, unbearable humidity, random torrential downpours...there are more than a few things visitors might complain about, but it's not really cool to complain about these things. You won't hear many natives whining about these things, because a lifelong tolerance of these things is like a badge of honor. The exception to this is the unfamiliar "cold" feeling, which we are hypersensitive to and will definitely complain about.
10. Calling this "pop."

Coke or soda are the acceptable terms, depending on where you're from, but never, ever pop.
11. Staying inside on a beautiful day.

There have to be very compelling reasons, such as not losing our jobs, for us to spend days like this indoors.
