The Coral Springs Covered Bridge in Florida is a 40-foot bridge which became the very first permanent structure built in the city in 1964.
What was originally built as a marketing tool for the brand new planned city “in the country” Coral Springs, has become the only covered bridge in Florida existing on a public road.
The bridge and the murals have been updated and renovated throughout the years, including the paint which was originally a “barn red” in order to put out a sense of “Old South” in the very bare landscape.
Visitors can still drive through the covered bridge in Coral Springs, as it has been recognized for both the architectural and historical importance with a Florida Heritage Site Marker.
