Vero Beach is a city located on Florida’s east coast, about 130 miles north of Miami. Although it only has 15,000 residents, there are so many things to see and do that you’ll never get bored. Most people outside the area don’t know anything about this town, but there are quite a few reasons to visit this underrated Florida beach town:
Vero Beach might just be the perfect town. With around 15,000 residents, it isn't too big or too small.
There's plenty to do, whether you're the outdoorsy type or you prefer artsy entertainment. One of Florida's most beautiful historic gardens, McKee Botanical Garden, is right here in Vero Beach.
If you want something a little more thrilling, there are several airboat companies (like Florida Cracker Airboat Rides & Guide Service, which is pictured here) that will take you on an unforgettable tour of Vero Beach's unique wildlife and scenery.
Of course, there are also plenty of gorgeous Treasure Coast beaches and parks in the area that folks of all ages can enjoy. Pictured is South Beach Park.
If you prefer for your adventures to take place indoors, the Vero Beach Museum of Art provides a fascinating escape for art lovers.
Displaying works of sculpture, glass, photography, paintings, and more, you can spend hours immersed in the collections and ever-changing exhibits.
While you're on the Treasure Coast, why not take a deeper look at some local history at the McLarty Treasure Museum.
This museum is small, but holds a treasure trove of artifacts and information on the area's fascinating history.
For a delicious meal that won't break the bank, try Casey's Place. The food is simple but delicious classic American fare. Some of the best burgers you've ever had plus outdoor seating near the beach ... What could be better?
If you're interested in craft beer, take a tour of Walking Tree Brewery. This brewery strives to be as creative as possible without forgetting its Florida roots.
Complete your visit with a production at this local theater. Riverside Theatre is a charming venue that enriches the community with all kinds of shows, events and lectures.
By the way, Vero Beach is also known as Hibiscus City. Visit in spring for the annual Hibiscus Festival, celebrating art, music, and community.
