When winter comes to the beaches of Florida, we love to spruce up the state with fun and festive holiday decorations just like our frozen neighbors to the north. Here are some winter traditions in Florida that will make you feel like jumping for joy during the holidays:

  • Holiday Lights In The Gardens, Largo, FL: The Florida Botanical Gardens get a light-filled makeover in the winter when the holidays roll around. It is a magical world of trees, bushes, and plants all wearing their Christmas best. The 30-acre garden is filled with over one million lights in creative animal shapes, gingerbread houses, and Christmas trees. It is a lovely way to enjoy a balmy Florida evening.
  • Santa’s Farm, Eustis, FL: Did you know Santa had a retirement home in Florida? Santa's Farm is a delightful Christmas tree farm where you can pick out and cut your own tree. Not only that but you can race down Santa's Zip Line (maybe that's how he gets to all of the houses in the world), or check out the petting zoo with goats, chickens, donkeys, horses, and more. The Kettle & Grill is a delicious spot to grab some holiday treats and a tasty lunch as well.
  • Winter Festival, Tallahassee, FL: In early December, the Winter Festival has a number of fun events and places to enjoy holiday lights. Take a stroll down Candy Cane Lane or the beautifully decorated McCarty Park.
