Thousands Of Rental Cars Up In Flames In 15-Acre Fire At Florida Airport
Just this past weekend there was a fire near the Southwest Florida International Airport that caused quite the commotion. Making waves as headline news, this airport fire led to severe damage to a few thousand rentals cars as it caught flames for reasons still being investigated. As reported by the Fort Myers News-Press, the fire burned near an overflow lot for rental cars near the Southwest Florida International Airport.

The fire spread quickly throughout the 15-acres of space, which led to quite the heroics from the local firefighters.

Thankfully, nobody was hurt, however, it was a scary scene as witnesses reported hearing explosions and seeing flames and smoke through the treetops.

The airport remains open and fully functional, with access roads reopening Friday around 11 p.m.

Luckily, the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office and the local firefighters were able to work in tandem to control this fire from spreading any further.
