Delis really are underrated. Think about it for a second. You have a restaurant that honors lunchtime, which is obviously the underdog meal out of the three—but not only can you get a sandwich at a deli literally topped with whatever floats your boat, but you also can get a pickle, some chips, and even a slice of pie. There aren’t too many places left anymore that honors the middle meal, people. But this particular restaurant in Florida does, and it might just be the oldest deli in the state.
Stephen’s Deli in Hialeah, Florida provides visitors with classic, hand-sliced pastrami and old-school deli panache in a simple, no-frills spot.
This nostalgic restaurant is the oldest deli in Florida and has been recently reopened by the Kush Hospitality Group in order to reignite the love people have for the near-extinct deli experience.
Not only does this deli pay homage to the man behind the original Stephen’s Deli, Henderson "Junior" Biggers, but it also recognizes the original menu all the way back from the 1950s, but of course, with a Kush Hospitality twist.
At Stephen’s Deli, you’ll find classic deli sandwiches like the famous hand-cut corned beef or the salty and soft pastrami piled high on fresh slices of rye.
Did we mentioned there is also an all-day breakfast served up at Stephen’s, too? Get your fix of Bagel & Lox, a two-egg breakfast, corned beef and hash, or Chicken n Waffles.
See for yourself what the oldest operating deli in Miami-Dade is all about by visiting Stephen’s Deli and scoring yourself a pastrami sandwich to rival them all.
