There's No Community In The World Quite Like This One In Florida

The world’s first-ever gated community dedicated entirely to neglected and abused children is being built right now in Florida. The gated community, expected to open in April, will have eight homes plus a common area community building – all for housing Florida’s neglected and/or abused children.
Over in West Melbourne there's a private non-profit Christian organization called Nana's House that's been providing a Christian alternative to the state's foster care program for decades. Now, the organization is taking those volunteer efforts to the next level.
After years of planning, dreaming and fundraising, Nana's House leader Kim Frodge is making the dream come true.
It started with the donation of a failed subdivision where everything was already in place for the buildout. The streets were there, as was the electrical and even some of the foundations had been poured when Nana's House was given the property and everything on it. Since then, it's just been a matter of gathering up businesses who want to invest in the community. The first house is being constructed by a local builder strictly as a donation.
Other individuals and businesses have also donated money to the efforts.
At the groundbreaking, the gated community had already built the heart of the playground. It was unveiled at the ceremony.
For sure, the world's first ever entirely gated community for neglected and/or abused children is a triumphant accomplishment. Each home will house five children who could be on site for as short as a day - or as long as to the day they turn 18. And each house will have a Christian couple serving as houseparents.
