They say you can never go home again, but Miami restaurateur Matt Kuscher wasn’t having it. He recreated a piece of history that anyone who lived through the ’80s will appreciate. Get ready to step back in time at this incredible dessert bar in Coconut Grove.
Vicky's House Milkshake Bar & Tasting Room, located at 3190 Commodore Plaza in Miami, is a real blast from the past. Everything in the little 12-seat milkshake bar is either a relic or recreation of the owner's mother's house, circa 1986.
From the minute you enter through a Bill & Ted's style phone booth (located inside the restaurant next door), you will go back in time to '80s heaven. If you grew up or raised a family in this particular decade, you're bound to feel a twinge of nostalgia.
The milkshakes are delightfully on-theme as well, each named with a reference to '80s pop culture. Try the Golden Girls, a banana milkshake with Golden Grahams cereal, a homemade blondie, a Twinkie, and a rim of cream cheese frosting (a nod to the girls' favorite dessert, cheesecake).
Some of the other over-the-top creations include The Breakfast Club (topped with a donut) and E.T. Goes to the Movies to Watch the Goonies (decked out in movie theater candies).
Besides the milkshakes and washing-machine PBRs, you can choose from a variety of ice cream floats, ice cream sandwiches, and a selection of wine and craft beers.
