The Jacksonville Jazz Festival is a free event in the heart of downtown Jacksonville May 22nd to the 25th. It is accompanied by an art festival, and many downtown bars will host more free music after hours during the festival.
4. Memorial Day Weekend Concert in Memorial Park, Jacksonville, FL
This free two-hour concert honoring our fallen heroes will feature the U.S. Navy Ceremonial Band. The concert takes place Sunday evening, 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
5. The Sunset Music Festival in Tampa will run May 23rd and 24th. The event has three stages and thousands of attendees.
6. Memorial Day Live at Shephard's Beach Resort in Clearwater Beach
The lineup for this event lasting all weekend includes Flo Rida and LunchMoney Lewis, and many more. For only $35 you can party all weekend, but headliners will be playing Saturday night.
7. Memorial Day Concert in Cypress Grove Park in Orlando
This two-hour free concert featuring music of the Orlando Concert Band and presentations by Winter Springs Junior ROTC and POW/MIA Remembrance will take place on Saturday, May 23rd, from 10:00am to 12:00pm. Bring chairs and blankets and watch this tribute to our fallen heroes.
8. The Great American Beach Party at Fort Lauderdale Beach
Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial kickoff for summer, so a beach party is a great way start. This free event features live bands, a kids zone, DJ, sand castle contest, classic car show, tribute to the Armed Forces, and an art show. It takes place Saturday from 10am to 8:30pm.
9. Memorial Day Family FunFest at the Armed Forces Museum in Largo
This event will feature some typical fun stuff for kids, like face painting, a petting zoo and a bounce house, plus some really unique fun like military vehicle rides, WWII re-enactors and Bomber Girls. This is the perfect way to celebrate Memorial Day with your family.
10. Blue Crab Festival in Palakta, FL
This festival includes Memorial Day Parade, seafood cook-off, live entertainment, carnival rides, arts and crafts, and more. Fireworks will be held Saturday night at 9:15pm. Admission is free.
11. Memorial Day KidzFest at Flamingo Gardens in Davie, FL
On Monday, May 25th, 9am to 4:30, Flamingo Gardens will be a kids' paradise! The event features, butterfly encounter, animal presentations, kid's games and activities, arts & crafts, entertainment, bounce houses, and even free pony rides from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Kids over 12 are $18, but kids 5-11 are only $5.
