Most people might be familiar with the name Jeffrey Dahmer as the Milwaukee Monster, hailing from the state of Wisconsin. This notorious serial killer had spent much of his early life in the Midwest, leaving Wisconsin to live in various parts of Ohio. However, what many people might not know about the infamous murderer, is the fact that he also spent time in South Florida. Did you know that Jeffrey Dahmer, the cannibalistic serial killer, once lived just a few short miles from Sunny Isles Beach? Learn all about the chilling history in Florida that many have forgotten even existed.
Jeffrey Dahmer is a well-known serial killer with a sordid past that most don’t want to relive.
After an honorable discharge from the Army due to heavy off-duty drinking, Dahmer left the service and was given a plane ticket to travel anywhere in the country. Dahmer chose South Florida.
After wasting much of his money on alcohol, Dahmer was soon evicted from the motel for non-payment and lived like a vagabond on the beach, still working at the sandwich shop. Eventually, Dahmer phoned his father to return to Ohio later that year.

This wasn’t Dahmer’s only tie to The Sunshine State, however. After being arrested for murder and spending time in jail, Dahmer apparently wanted to receive the death penalty in Florida, and to do so, he told the FBI he would confess to the murder of America’s Most Wanted host John Walsh’s six-year-old son Adam.
Yet, eventually, Adam’s murder was linked to another man who had ties to another serial killer, Henry Lee Lucas.
Jeffrey Dahmer has seemed to retain a level of fame for his crimes against humanity, especially the release of Netflix’s series Dahmer and another film “My Friend Dahmer.”
