There are many beautiful landmarks and places of worship in the Sunshine State. But there’s one stunning temple, located in Tampa, that you have probably never heard of.
The Hindu Temple of Florida was built in Tampa to serve a growing Indian community.
The architecture of the temple is really breathtaking. It's probably not surprising that building such an impressive structure took quite some time. Fundraising began in 1983, this land was purchased in 1989, and a temple was completed in 1996.
The temple strives to be both a religious and cultural center for its devotees, with religious classes for adults and children, but also dance, music, art, and language classes so that children can learn about their roots.
The goal of the temple is to be "a place of worship, a place of knowledge and a place of peace for young and old to mingle while renewing their faith."
