The castle is located in Wellington, near West Palm Beach, but we don't advise anyone to try to explore it without permission. Like most castles, it is well protected (in this case it's with guard dogs and an electric fence.)
So why a castle? Woods saw a picture of the ruins of the Lohort Castle in Ireland (pictured below) in a book and figured he could build something similar.
So he bought a few acres in rural Palm Beach County before the area was part of Wellington and slowly started making his dream a reality. Now, three decades later, there are a few neighbors nearby. The castle still has plenty of room, however, as it sits on five acres in front of a wildlife preserve.
As you can see from these photos from Zillow, the castle looks pretty modern on the inside. (It isn't on the market now, but at some point it possibly could be.)
