The Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp began back in 1875, founded by a man named George P. Colby who traveled and was referred to as a “seer of spiritualism.”
But people will flock to this small town for a variety of reasons, whether it be simple curiosity, or paranormal enthusiasts looking to find some answers.

When you spend the day in Cassadaga, first start by appreciating that this small town is a piece of American history, as it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

There are special events that take place within the town each year, such as the Spirit Encounters Night Photography Tours, or the historic tour of Cassadaga which takes place at 2 p.m. every Friday through Saturday.
You can always check the calendar of events with the official website in order to plan a trip around something in particular. Autumn is filled with exciting, paranormal events which is why it’s a great time for a first visit.
However, despite being dubbed as haunted, these ghosts are supposedly friendly. While you’re staying there, you can make an appointment with any of the in-house healers, too.
Stop by any of the mom-and-pop shops or bookstores throughout town to pick up some extra reading materials about the history of the town.
