This sprawling outdoor market is full of old-world charm and allows visitors to experience German culture and holiday traditions. Best of all, it’s right here in Florida.
Whether you have German ancestors or you just love Christmas, visiting the Christkindlmarkt in Lake Worth is a delightful holiday experience full of Christmas cheer.
The market is put on by the American-German Club of the Palm Beaches, and it takes place Saturday, December 9th, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Sunday, December 10th, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Children can enjoy fun activities such as making Christmas ornaments and decorating miniature gingerbread houses, and adults can search for unique gifts such as handcrafted jewelry, ornaments, and clothing that you won't find anywhere else.
Guests can also chow down on authentic German food like bratwurst, pretzels, schnitzel, and potato pancakes. You don't want to miss the traditional German holiday treats, either, including Stollen, Strudel, and roasted nuts. Imported German beer and hot spiced wine will get you in the Christmas spirit.
Guests can enjoy live entertainment and performances, including a brass band with festive music, carolers, and dancers. Santa Claus and the Christkind (the traditional gift-giver of Germany) will be available for photos.
Children are invited to join in an evening parade through the market, singing German and American Christmas songs. Then, in the highlight of the event, Santa will light a beautiful Christmas tree.
Tickets are $10 at the door or $8 online before the event. Admission is free for children under 12 years of age. The American-German Club of the Palm Beaches is located at 5111 Lantana Road, Lake Worth, FL 33463. Phone: 561-967-6464.
