Everyone is usually in a rush to get all the way down to the Florida Keys, but oftentimes what makes the trip so spectacular is the fact that there are so many beautiful places to stop and enjoy along the way. We have one enchanting place- a tropical paradise all on its own. Key Largo has been lauded as one of the most enchanting places on Earth. Just ask the Beach Boys! But what makes this beautiful place unlike any other in the world? We’re here to tell you firsthand.
Key Largo is the first and northernmost of the Florida Keys, about an hour’s drive from South Florida.
But what makes this place such a phenomenon, besides the stunning natural beauty and towering palm trees, is that it is home to the world’s largest artificial reef!
As the self-proclaimed Dive Capital of the World, Key Largo is home to tons of diving attractions, from John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park to the 510-foot USS Spiegel Grove.
You can always stick to the surface and snorkel, even if diving isn't your thing. Or better yet, take a glass bottom boat out onto the water and see it all from above.
Plus, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention perhaps the most enchanting part of this place - the sunsets! The hues of color that palette the sky are some of the prettiest you’ll see.
