The Key West Butterfly & Nature Conservatory is a do-not-miss attraction in the beautiful Florida Keys. Key West can be a little crazy (part of why we love it), so this butterfly sanctuary provides a low-key escape to a tropical paradise that the whole family can enjoy.
The butterfly conservatory provides a quiet retreat in the middle of bustling Key West, located right on Duval Street.
The structure was designed to resemble a Victorian greenhouse, and inside you'll find a tropical oasis, with paths winding past waterfalls, koi ponds, and lots of colorful plants and trees.
Keep an eye out for exotic birds overhead and little quail that scurry underfoot. Don't forget to check out the famous resident flamingo couple, Rhett and Scarlett.
The Key West Butterfly & Nature Conservatory is located at 1316 Duval Street in, Key West. The conservatory is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily, with the last ticket sold at 4:30 p.m. Admission costs $12.00 for adults, and $8.50 for children ages 4 to 12.
