It’s no secret that Americans love burgers. In fact, as a nation, we consume more than 50 billion burgers a year. One man in Miami loves burgers even more than the average American. His name is Sef Gonzalez, but he goes by Burger Beast. He loved burgers so much that he created an entire museum devoted to burgers and other comfort foods.
Welcome to the Burger Museum, located at the entrance of Miami's Magic City Casino. It is currently America's only museum devoted entirely to burgers, fast food, and comfort food memorabilia.
The 1,500-square-foot museum is full of more than 3,000 items related to burger and comfort food history.
Here you'll find artifacts and collectibles from current and long-gone fast food and comfort food restaurants, both national and unique to South Florida.
The museum's old uniforms, signs, statues, menus, and packaging, will bring back nostalgia for your childhood or maybe even your first job.
You can also watch a hamburger documentary in the mini theater or choose from a number of old-school sodas available for purchase.
If you visit, make sure you ask if the owner, Sef, is around. He's a wealth of knowledge about local and national burger history.
The Burger Museum is open from noon to 5:00 p.m., Friday through Monday. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children.
