2. Tampa
Coming in at #35 in the U.S., Tampa earned its spot because of the opportunities of its lively, growing metropolitan scene. It also offers plenty of entertainment and nightlife. Its overall score was a 6.6 out of 10.
3. Orlando
This tourism hot spot, which means not only is there plenty to do, but also a healthy job market. It ranked 40th on the nationwide list.
4. Jacksonville
Coming in at #45 is Jacksonville, which is huge in both land size and population. Residents enjoy proximity to beaches and historic St. Augustine and Amelia Island.
5. Melbourne
Melbourne snagged the 49th place on the Top 100 list, with a score of 6.6. The town offers lots of opportunities for outdoor activities and Space Coast history.
6. Lakeland
With lots of parks and scenic lakes, this Central Florida city oozes Old Florida charm, earning it the #64 spot on the national list and #6 in Florida. Lakeland is close enough to Orlando and Tampa that residents can enjoy lots of touristy spots without having to live in one of the larger cities.
7. Fort Myers
With an overall score of 6.4, Fort Myers ranks #70 in the country and 7th in Florida. Its charming downtown offers museums, restaurants, shops, parks, and much more.
8. Daytona Beach
The same things that attract tourists to Daytona Beach make it a fun place to live year-round, including golf, fishing, and racing. Outside of sports, you can also enjoy antique shopping, museums, theaters, and restaurants. All of this earned the city the #82 spot on the Top 100 list and an overall score of 6.1.
9. Miami
Miami is a city like no other, where you'll never run out of things to see and do. It's also located near some of Florida's most beautiful natural attractions, like the beautiful beaches, the Everglades and Biscayne National Park. With a score of 5.8, the city earned the 92nd spot on the national list, and it was the last Florida city to make the list.
