As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
I’m likely not the first to admit this – but staycations are entirely underrated. I’m not talking about the staycation that involves being at home in sweats with a good book or a new show to binge, although that is a favorite. I’m talking about finding a place you’ve never been to in your home state and holing up for a few days of pampering and pure relaxation. And there is no better place to do just that than the JW Marriott Orlando Bonnet Creek Resort & Spa.
This family-friendly luxury Orlando resort has everything you need for a few days of pure staycation bliss. From the rooftop Japanese restaurant on the ninth floor to the 9,920-square-foot day spa, one visit to this JW Marriott, and you’ll likely never want to leave.
I was lucky enough to spend a few nights at this resort, and let me tell you, the experience far exceeded my expectations. I left after a few days feeling rested, rejuvenated, and like this was one of the best hotels in the south I’ve visited.
Stepping into the world of the JW Marriott Orlando Bonnet Creek Resort & Spa is akin to entering a world where luxury, tranquility, and indulgence intertwine.
Upon arrival, I was greeted by staff members, who were the true epitome of warmth and hospitality. Both guest services and valet went above and beyond to ensure every moment surpassed my expectations, from check-in to departure. So kudos to those two teams.
The accommodations inside the hotel were nothing short of incredible. The one-bedroom suite is meticulously designed, offering a blend of modern amenities and timeless elegance.
The thing that struck me as most accommodating about the JW Marriott was that you really had everything you needed under one roof, starting with the restaurant downstairs, dubbed the Unreserved Food Bazaar.
It was here that I was able to indulge in a breakfast buffet that blew me away. With a casual, European-style market vibe, I was seated right away and began my culinary journey through all my favorite breakfast favorites for one set price.
Picture the wafting scent of warm maple syrup and waffles crisped to perfecting. There were a plethora of baked goods, savory items, and an entire fruit bar to be enjoyed.
Perhaps my favorite aspect of all was the fact that the restaurant also offered vegan breakfast items, including a made-to-order-made-from-scratch plant based omelette!
Also while visiting, I went to the ninth floor for a dining experience at Illume, the Japanese rooftop hideaway. While the meal left a bit to be desired, I can say the ambiance and sake selection is worth checking out.
To start, the fitness center has state-of-the-art machines for you to get your sweat on and feel great afterwards. Also part of the resort fee for the hotel are fitness classes! You can unwind with some yoga or meditation to really get centered and back on track.
But, in my honest and humble opinion, the ace in the hole for the entire resort - the spa. This 9,920-square-foot day spa experience offers a steam room, dry sauna, aromatherapy showers, an ice bath, and so much more. Talk about unwinding!
I highly recommend if you opt to get a massage (an absolute must!) try to book Sheri or Jose. With a level of commitment to detail, plus hands of pure magic, these two technicians are top-notch.
The allure of this resort extends beyond its confines, seamlessly connecting guests to Orlando's vibrant attractions. But I have to warn you, once you check in to the JW Marriott Orlando Bonnet Creek, you might try to find every excuse not to leave.
